A strategic port to serve Panama and the world
Puerto Barú is a place with more than 40 years of port vocation
Puerto Barú in David is the most significant logistics investment in the history of Chiriquí and the western region of Panama. This environmentally sustainable project leverages Panama’s strategic geographic location, Chiriquí’s productive strengths, its tourism potential, and its proximity to Central America, all while valuing its people.
Puerto Barú is a multipurpose port set to revolutionize logistics in Panama and the region. Located just 15 kilometers from David City in the province of Chiriquí, it will boost the development of commerce, agribusiness, and tourism.
Conveniently located to critical trade Routes
The Puerto Barú project in David is situated in the District of David, within the Chiriquí district. The project’s privately owned land, with titles dating back to the 1920s, is also referred to as Puerto Cabrito as this location was utilized in the 1960s for the transportation of goods and the exportation of citrus fruits
With hundreds of thousands of trucks traveling to and from David, Chiriquí annually, Puerto Baru serves to connect trade in the region’s most important touchpoints. As the only feeder port on the Pacific coast of Panama between the Panama Canal and Costa Rica, Puerto Baru will create unique opportunities to reduce carbon emissions and create hundreds of jobs for the Chirquí region.
