The Research, Training and Entrepreneurship Center, CIFE, a non-profit organization, in collaboration with scientists, will collect scientific evidence to evaluate the mangrove in its environmental responses to the activities of the Puerto Barú project in David, especially regarding its ecological functions committed to the estuarine lagoon system (SILEC); as part of the environmental management plan for this important development.

Meet the environmental consulting team of the Puerto Barú in David
The team, made up of the company Planeta Panamá Consultores and qualified independent professionals, is led by Dr. Manuel F. Zárate.
Under his direction, more than 20 professionals of recognized trajectory have participated in the preparation of the Category III Environmental Impact Study. Additionally, this same team began the process of preliminary studies more than two (2) years ago in order to obtain an Environmental Viability in April 2022 as a milestone prior to the presentation of the Environmental Impact Study.
